In early 2003 I had set out to find a Sonic Blue GT with
dark charcoal leather ever since I had seen one at a local dealership. After over
a year of searching daily through Ford's used vehicle website and eBay I finally
found "the one."
I found it on eBay. I contacted the gentlemen and spoke with him regarding the price
because it had a reserve. I also contacted a loan agency to see what kind of
loan I could get. I received an e-mail back with additional pictures and a price.
I replied that I could only afford a certain amount ($2,000 less). He then said if you can get
here that weekend it's yours.
At this time it was Wednesday. I contacted the loan company and they sent the check out
next-day air. I received it on Friday at 3:00 PM and by 5:00 PM my Dad and I were heading to
Maryland. We drove virtually non-stop from North Georgia to Church Hill, Maryland. We arrived
around Maryland at 6:00 AM on Saturday. We stopped and rested for a few hours and on we went.
We arrived at his house at about 9:30 AM. His wife called him home from the gym and we closed the
deal about 10:30. By 11:00 we were heading home.
We arrived back home at 2:30 AM Sunday morning. I could hardly contain myself and woke up at 8:00
AM to admire one of my dream cars. That's the story of how I came to own this beautiful
GT.
